Summer Water Fun

I'm sharing two water theme cards today that I made on separate days, but using the same stamp set. For both cards I colored everything with watercolor. In the first card, I used 3-4 different shades of blue in Daniel Smith to create the background. As you can see, the water texture from Daniel Smith watercolor was able to add some interest to the otherwise plain background.

The second card is a one-dimensional card. I stamped the monkeys and boat (single stamp) with grey ink, then colored the image using distress ink markers. Then I hand drew the background also using distress ink markers. I added some waves using white gel pen afterwards and finished the card by stamping the seagulls and sentiments. This is quite a bit of stretch for my limited watercolor skill.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges.

Supplies used in this card:
  • MFT Soak up the fun stamp set (MFT)
  • MFT Anything but basic birthday wishes stamp set (MFT)
